Hi, I just recieved two critical alerts with:

The Plugin “” needs an upgrade. – No plugin name or author.

And 4 critical alerts for deleteme.xxxxxxxxxxxx.php (numbers removed)

    Filename: deleteme.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.php
File type: Not a core, theme or plugin file.
Issue first detected: 18 mins ago.
    Severity: Critical
    Status New
This file is a PHP executable file and contains an eval() function and base64() decoding function on the same line. This is a common technique used by hackers to hide and execute code. If you know about this file you can choose to ignore it to exclude it from future scans.

One of the deleteme files has the name of the town where I live in it. Very strange. I recently gave the theme developer my login credentials for cpanel and my site so they could help me with some problems. Could this be related?

I would like to delete these, but I scared they might be needed.

    Thanks!

  • Make a backup before you delete so you can rollback if needed. It could just be a file the developer customized in a theme?
