STRANGE behavior saving shipping new rule

    Hi, we installed this plugin a long time ago…and we are managing a few free simple discounts…

    now we need to offer a free shipping if a product is in the cart, in a state and there aren’t product of a determined category.

    creating that free shipping when we publish de free shipping rule the plugin cannot save properly the setting we put, i mean, it changes the configuration, add randoms rows… impossible to use.

    So we disabled all the plugins leaving woocommerce and this free shipping plugin….the problem still happen…

    What could be the reason?
    Can you help us?

    Hi Angelo,

    Could you maybe post a short video of what is happening when saving a rate? I’ll need to see what is happening.

    Can you verify this is in a new rate or existing, older rate?

    Can you give it a try too with all other plugins disabled? I noticed you have ‘store exporter’ enabled, which I know (at least in the past) caused some conflicts.

    I tested things myself again and couldn’t replicate it so far.

    Hi, thank for the answer.

    We had already disabled all plugins ( leaving woocommerce and your free shipping ) and the problem was still there…

    we, tried to disable only the store exporter…and the problem is still there…

    do you think would be a good idea to give you the credential to enter the site admin and investigate the problem?… beware: it’s a production site… :/

    Hi Angelo,

    Thank you for testing.

    What about if it happened on new / existing rates?
    Would it be possible for you to do a test on a clean setup?

    Also, maybe do a test using the Advanced Shipping Validation to see if that gives the same result?

    Hi! thanks for your answer!

    A new one rule has the same problems…

    The validation plugin has the same problem…and on another test site it is not happend… so it’s a problem of cuchillalia.com installation…

    So, how can we debug the problem to understand? we would like to buy the pro (https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-advanced-shipping/8634573) version of the plugin but we could have the same problems?

    Hi Angelo,

    The Advanced Shipping plugin probably won’t have the same issue as that plugin doesn’t run the same conditional code this and the validation plugin has (yet), so I think that will work.

    If you can reach out through my site with a temp admin login + link to a test rate, I’ll take a look to see if I can find anything.

    I’m also having the same problem with creating and saving free shipping rule on our site.

    No matter what I do, it also creates a new rule without me creating one.
    Please advise!

    Hi Estee,

    I’ve investigated this with Angelo and found a possible cause. It has to do with your hosting server being a 32 bit system (a bit older) and not 64-bit. This means that some of the newly generated IDs (10 number digits) are too big and are instead limited to a maximum number, causing multiple conditions to be the same ID and then conflicting.

    Anyways, we’re still doing some testing, but if confirmed I’ll release a update as soon as possible.

    I’ve found the cause and fix for this. I’ve just tagged version 1.1.1 of the plugin which Angelo previously helped me test on his system (and it works 🙂
