    Hi folks,

I bet that today’s announcement of WP 5.0 arriving on Thursday will spark a lot of interest…

You might consider a pinned “About WordPress 5.0” topic in your forum that describes:

    – Whether your 4.9.x installation will automatically update
    – What control you would get by using EAM for that update
    – What other benefits people get from EAM…

(I’d be curious to know these answers as well…)

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

The update will be controlled by the settings for ‘Major WordPress updates’.

    I understand update path is 4.9 > 5.0, not 4.9 > 4.10 > 4.11?

You should be able to stay on the 4.9 branch if you disable core updates in the Automatic Updates section. Select custom from automatic updates, disable major releases and enable minor releases.
