Static front page with custom permalinks

    I have been using a dynamic front page with custom permalinks and it works great. I decided I would like to have a static front page and it only works if I have plain permalinks (it doesn’t work with custom permalinks). I have tried editing the .htaccess file but it didn’t work.

    Does anyone have any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any advice. I have HostGator for hosting and the Beaver Builder Child Theme.

    Just wanted to post a little more information below:

    – My site is http://www.DocEden.com (if you visit it you will see that it doesn’t load)
    -If you visit http://www.DocEden.com/blog or other links within that domain they all work, it is just the home page. I believe it has to do with the permalinks or the .htaccess file but am relatively new to this so will gladly take any advice.
