• Hi there –

    I just activated Loco Translate. I selected a theme to translate and get to the page where you 1. select a language and 2. select a storage location. I select English and “Custom” for the storage location. The problem is the “Start Translating” button is not clickable.

    Do you need to create a storage folder prior to this step? How? Apologies if I am missing something here.

    The button will stay disabled if the new file can’t be created, but you will be told why. Check for warnings at the top of the screen. It might say Write Protected or something similar.

    Thanks for the reply. I do not see any warnings before or after selecting English (US) and Custom for the location. Clicking the grayed out Start Translating button does does nothing either. The theme I’m trying to translate is Storefront if that helps.

    I can’t think of any scenario where you’d be prevented from proceeding without being warned about why.

    Do you have errors in your browser console? What is the response from the Ajax request that is made when you change your selections?

    Hi Tim,

    I have a jquery.css error in addition to a blocked resource from the Amazon Link Builder plugin (official plugin for Amazon Associates).

    When I make the language selection, in the network tab I see:

    {wp-auth-check: true, server_time: 1591541573}
    server_time: 1591541573
    wp-auth-check: true

    That Ajax response isn’t for Loco Translate. If there’s no other request then an error must be occurring before it gets that far.

    I don’t know what your “jquery.css error” is, but if you have any JavaScript errors at all you should disable whatever plugin is causing them. That might mean disabling each plugin you have installed one by one until the error stops.
