• Hello,

I am using Amelia Lite 2.4.5 with Square in Spain, with EUR as the selected currency.

The customer enters the card details correctly and the bank requests 3D Secure verification. The verification is completed successfully, but after returning to the website, Amelia goes back to the same payment step. The booking is not confirmed and the payment is not processed.

Nothing appears in the Square Transactions dashboard, not even a failed or pending payment attempt. It seems that Amelia is not sending the final payment request to Square after the 3D Secure verification is completed.

I have already disconnected and reconnected my Square account in Amelia, selected the default Square location again, and saved the settings. The problem still persists.

    Amelia Lite version: 2.4.5
    Booking page: https://jftproducciones.com/asesoria-online/
    Browser: Google Chrome on Windows
    Country: Spain
    Currency: EUR

Could you please check whether there is an issue with Square and 3D Secure payments in Amelia Lite 2.4.5, or tell me what could be preventing the final payment request from being sent to Square?

I am not a technical user, so I would appreciate clear, step-by-step instructions.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us. A couple of reassurances first: you are already on the latest version of Amelia Lite (2.4.5), so this is not caused by an outdated plugin, and both Spain and EUR are fully supported by the Square integration. In the current version, Square runs directly inside the booking form (there is no separate Square page), so when you “return to the site” you are returning from your bank’s 3D Secure screen.

The important detail you found — that nothing at all appears in your Square dashboard, not even a failed attempt — tells us that after the 3D Secure check passes, the final payment request is not reaching Square. That usually points to something on the site or server quietly blocking that last step, rather than a problem with your Square account or card. Here are the checks to work through, from easiest to most involved

    1. Test in a private/incognito window. Open your booking page in a new incognito/private window (and, if you use any browser extensions or ad-blockers, disable them for the test). Then try the booking again. This rules out browser cache or an extension interfering with the 3D Secure window.

    2. Clear your website’s cache and re-test. If you use a caching or “speed optimization” plugin (such as WP Rocket or LiteSpeed Cache) or your hosting has its own cache, clear it fully, then try again. Stale cached files are one of the most common causes of a booking step not completing.

    3. Temporarily pause optimization and security plugins (ideally with help from whoever maintains the site). One at a time, temporarily deactivate any JavaScript/CSS “minify” or “combine” optimization plugins and any security/firewall plugins (for example Wordfence), clearing the cache after each, and re-test a payment. If the payment suddenly goes through, we’ve found the culprit and can add an exclusion so you can keep the plugin. Please re-activate anything that wasn’t the cause.

    4. Ask your hosting provider two specific questions. (a) Is there a firewall/WAF or “ModSecurity” that might be blocking payment requests on the site? and (b) Are outgoing connections to Square’s servers allowed? Some hosts block these by default, which would explain the payment never reaching Square.

    5. Confirm the Square connection is Live. In Amelia → Settings → Payments → Square, confirm your account shows as connected, the correct location is selected, and it is not in a test/sandbox mode.

If it still fails after these, we can pinpoint the exact blocking step. To do that, could you send us a short recording of the browser’s technical logs during one failed attempt?

    Regards,
    Stefan.
