square grid display does not respond to settings

I’m using the Square Grid on my events page, and it displays only 9 (if 3 per row) or 10 (if other) events regardless of settings. If I select 20 from the display dropdown menu, or if I choose Custom and enter a larger number, it will load only 10 events.
This happens whether I have past events displayed (meaning fewer future events are visible) or hidden. It may or may not provide a “Load More” button at the bottom of the page.
Likewise, the Number of Columns in Grid View selection appears to be for decoration only; it does not influence the grid display, which may have 2-4 columns depending on its mood at reload.
Is this a known issue, or is there a fix? I’m only lightly using Event Prime, no extensions, no ticket sales, only listings with date and location.

I did try putting a number in the image height attribute, but it made no difference.
