SQL and the % character

    When editing a cell in a table connected via an sql query if I enter 20% it is saved in the database and table as 20{901d6bbc9e2aa6f4c139a9d9254a4e7625839eb44d7700a639a4c134d8baab68} or a random similar number

    Can you advise on how to fix this please
