I expected that the option in the customizer to set the Blog Layout to “Blog with full width & no sidebars” would make that the template for viewing individual posts…but none of the options there seem to have any effect at all, even in the live preview.

Would prefer my individual posts to show up with the full width, no sidebar format…any ideas?

Hi Wootie,

Please use

page with full width

page template to show up with full width and no sidebar on the particular page.

For the individual post you can take help form jetpack widgets visibility module to hide or show on particular post.
