A little background: I just installed WordPress on Tuesday. Other than this specific page, the rest of my site’s working fine. All other pages show properly.

I use the “post name” permalinks, and I got everything up and running.

Then, checking through my site, I discovered to my surprise that my fiction page suddenly stopped showing, instead showing the link to a parent directory as if the file wasn’t there.

This page used to work, and all other pages on the site work. This one doesn’t, for some reason I can’t figure out.

I tried reverting to an old version of the page. Didn’t work.

I tried deleting the page and reposting it. Didn’t work.

The only thing that works is changing the link. If I change the link to anything other than what it was (http://mistiwolanski.com/fiction/), then it works. But my site’s been up for years and has incoming links to that page. I need the page to be at that URL.

So what’s going on, and how can I get the page to display where it should?

    Thanks!

  • Sometimes, resetting the permalinks works.

Try resetting permalinks to default, saving, setting back to ‘post name’ and saving.

    Hi vtxyzzy,

I tried that, thanks. I discovered that there was somehow a folder named “fiction” on my root. Deleted that; it works, now.
