Spam-MOJO Marketplace

What is MOJO Marketplace? It came installed already in my new WordPress and all I can make of it is that is a big spammer trying to sell you stuff! Why would it be included? I don’t see any kind of useful functionality that it does.

Does anyone know the purpose of this and can I get rid of it?

Where did you download WordPress from?

Have you talked to them why your clean installation has spam inserted into it? It would suggest one thing for now that they put it in, or that their server has been compromised.

Unless it was with MOJO Marketplace that you actually installed WordPress? https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/wordpress

No it was not. It is a plugin and I already de-activated it but just wanted to be sure it isn’t something I need before I delete it.

Hey while I got you what is the function/purpose of jetpack? I don’t see anything that it does unless it works in the background doing something. That was pushed on me pretty hard in my admin panel to activate it.

Jetpack does a lot of stuff but it’s not part of a clean installation, not part of a clean installation from the WordPress software that is distributed on WordPress.org.

I already have my website 95% build so I don’t want to go back now. I also have “Akismet” and “W3 Total Cache” installed as part of the install. What do you think of those?

I’m not sure what to tell you other than they are plugins that are distributed on WordPress.org, and you can find information about them on the plugin repository:
