• I got an email from my web host that my WordPress website was under brute force login and comment spam attack, which was using a lot of server resources and causing problems, and large volume of comments stored in the database would affect the performance of my website dramatically.

For security reasons, my web host blocked access to wp-login.php by editing the .htaccess file. However they gave me access to the login page when I provided my IP address.

I hadn’t noticed that the site was under a spam attack. If anything gets a lot of spam, it is my datinginfoforsingles site, which gets over 1,000 attempted spam comments a week (nearly all of which are blocked by Akismet).

I have Akismet on my other site too. However, they advised that I should also add captcha code to comment forms there. So I was wondering what is a good captcha plugin to use?
