This might sound like a dumb question but I’m having issues with sidebar formatting after switching themes. Before, I would simply use <br> after a code in a text widget to make additional space between the next widget in that same sidebar. With generate press, this no longer seems to be working. I also had a couple widgets that didn’t show up at all, the widgets just stopped where the footer widgets began, instead of just pushing the footer widgets down like what would have happened in my previous theme.

    For example:
https://test.salamatphilippines.com/philippines-forum/forum/regions/luzon-regional-forums/bicol-regional-forums/ Here you can see that the map widget text is touching the footer widget. Since each forum has different formatting, it’s best to put in additional line breaks in the widgets instead of increasing the top margin of the footer per pages.

    Thanx 🙂

    Any ideas?

This is likely due to the WordPress 4.8 update where the text widget became a visual editor, which strips HTML elements like that.

On the page you linked to, the widget isn’t anywhere near the footer?

I was able to “fix it” on certain pages by hitting enter a few times in the visual editor, but not with those pages with the map widgets. See the following: http://imgur.com/a/sa2SG The text hits the footer widgets. Additionally, if I try to add another widget under the map, like an ad or another map for example, then the new widget will not show up.

Hmm, hard to tell. It looks like you’re using a script to make the content/sidebar the same height. Maybe try removing that script for now?

Your right, it was the “Fixed widget.” That sucks because I really liked that plugin 🙁 After enabled/re-enable of that plugin, the new widgets can be displayed, but they still don’t push down the footer widget area with fixed is used 🙁

It’s not big deal I guess, I’m trying to eliminate as many plugins as possible anyway. Thanks.

    No problem 🙂
