Also, did this icon problem show up only after activating Admin Menu Editor, or is it also present when this plugin is inactive?
Yes, I am using Material Admin Theme. If I use regular WP admin, without theme, then it looks fine.

It really depends on the internal details of the admin theme. Are the misplaced icons the default icons for those menu items, or are they custom icons that you assigned using AME? If this problem is happening with the default icons, you might need to ask the author of Material Admin Theme about it. I don’t think I would be able to help you much since I’m not familiar with how this admin theme works.
