• I installed this and when I attempted to add a single hashtag used only on my Instagram account, it said it was only available in the Pro version, contradicting the description.

    Hello,

All the features in the description of free version are available there. There is no fallacy in the description. It says free version has.
    1. Unlimited Instagram feeds
    2. Hashtag-based Instagram feed
    3. Instagram account-based feed
    While the pro version has
Mixed and multiple feeds (several Instagram hashtags and Instagram public accounts)

So With the free version you can create unlimited number of feeds, each of them consisted of single user or single hashtag feed.
Please take a look at the screenshot. Probably you want to have something like this.

When I attempted to use a SINGLE hashtag, the plugin’s dashboard had it grayed out with text to the right saying that it was only available in the premium version. So perhaps there is something coded wrong. But I can’t remove the negative review until I could actually insert a hashtag.

@progmastery I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

Thank you Jan. No way was I going to do that! I ended up using a different Instagram plugin that enabled me to use a hashtag feed. I will work on the premise that people reading the reviews can assess for themselves if this was a problem unique to me or not, but I can only convey my experience twice installing that plugin and not being able to use a hashtag feed.

It is not on me to allow a developer to dig around in my admin…

    Dear @jdembowski,

We understand your concern and wordpress.org policy regarding security. You are absolutely right.
@progmastery is our Instagram Feed WD lead developer and had good intentions when asking for admin access to fix the issue. He should not have done that, however he did not know about that.

As for the review, it seems that the user cannot figure out how to add single hashtag feed, or there is some javascript error, not necessarily in our plugin. That is why we would ask her not to haste to put negative review, but instead ask for help, which we are ready to offer.
We do not deceive people by advertising features which the plugin does not have. We are sorry for the problems @car57 had.

Please look how the plugin should work. If it does not work this way, there may be some bug, not necessarily in our plugin.

All I can say is what I already stated: The screen for the plugin dashboard, next to inserting a hashtag, says “This feature only available with premium version” or whatever the wording is. Not sure how that could be some javascript error that isn’t in the plugin itself.

I installed the plugin twice and attempted to set a hashtag. See above.

I uninstalled and am instead using Enjoy Instagram where I could use a hashtag, and choose to display images as a grid or a carousel.

Anyone else reading the comments can come to their own conclusion; perhaps it is some weird thing only in my WordPress install. The developer has tried to help, but since I was working on my blog in the middle of the night, I had to move on to use something that worked, and I don’t have the time or inclination to go back and try to troubleshoot a plugin. I would be happy to reword the title of my review to make it clear that I wasn’t able to use the plugin as intended, but again, I can’t give 5 stars to something that did not work as stated, for me, anyway.

Sorry, that’s the best I can do.
