social link menu missing?

When you navigate to Appearance > Menus in your site’s /wp-admin area, do you see a checkbox next to “Social Links” under “Menu Settings”? Here’s a screenshot of what that checkbox should look like:

If you’re seeing that option, have you create a new menu containing custom links to your social networks and checked that “Social Links” option?

If you’ve followed all of those steps correctly but the menu isn’t showing up to bottom right corner of your site, please share a link with me and I’ll be happy to look into the code to see what’s going on.

Thanks for the sharing the screenshot!

That’s the default view when no custom menu has been created. You’re currently using the default menu (which contains your published pages) but you’ll need to create a custom menu to see the extra options.

Click the “create a new menu” link towards the top of that page and then create a new menu named “Social Links” or similar. You’ll then be able to add custom links to that menu and assign it as your site’s “Social Links” menu.

Hi there,

Do you have a different theme to Penscratch active on your site? I’m seeing Header as one of the locations in the screenshot but that isn’t an option within Penscratch.

The two menu locations within Penscratch are Primary Menu and Social Links.

If you do have Penscratch active, then could you try deleting your copy of the theme and then installing a fresh version?
