• I’m trying to customize my blog, and when I go to customize the color of the different social links on the Customize page, it won’t let me enter a number, and it won’t set the color at all, even when I move the color slider around. It seems to be stuck on something close to black. At one point I got an error about running a caching plug in while customizing – so I deactivated SG Optimize temporarily. It still does not work. I have tried customizing on both Firefox and Chrome. I have cleared the cache on the site and on my browser – and it still does not work.

  • Hi Fencingcellist,

I can’t reproduce the problem on my end. I would recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps.

    1. Use the latest software versions : make sure WordPress, your theme and plugins are all up to date.
    2. Cache plugin : if you use a server cache or cache plugin, please clear it’s cache content and disable caching via it’s settings.
    3. Browser :
    • Check for plugin conflict : deactivate all of your plugins. If it fixes the issue, re-activate your plugins one by one, until you identify the plugin in conflict.
    • User of a child theme : activate the parent theme if you use a child theme
    • Javascript : make sure you did not insert custom javascript code ( like analytics, subscription popup… ), for example in a widget, that could break your site.
