Thanks for choosing Ignite!
The best way to guarantee social sites use the image you want is to use the Yoast SEO plugin. It will add “Open graph” meta elements to the page that specify the Featured Image to be used on Facebook and other social sites.
Yoast SEO also lets you specify an image just for Facebook and Twitter, which is pretty neat: http://pics.competethemes.com/image/0I302Z1d1i3u
hmmm, I have yoast seo, but it’s not showing images. I’ll look over setting again.
I see the error now, Facebook doesn’t like the ó character:
http://dobermansden.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Lwów-1914-dog.jpg
Running it through the open graph debugger, you can see that it converts that character into an HTML character code:
http://pics.competethemes.com/image/2T0a1X380H1t
This breaks the URL which leads to the image not showing on Facebook. If you reupload the image without any special characters in the filename, it should work.
no luck. I also tried the twitter validator
http://dobermansden.com/who-is-this-man/
INFO: Page fetched successfully
INFO: 25 metatags were found
INFO: twitter:card = summary_large_image tag found
INFO: Card loaded successfully
I’ll try yoast for some troubleshooting.
