Snaps theme: portfolio thumbnails

Hi, I am helping a friend who is a photographer set up a wordpress.com website using the Snaps theme.

When I post projects, the thumbnails on the portfolio page sit right at the bottom of the page while I would like them to be above the sharing buttons.

I watched a youtube video explaining the process but that seems to work only when the theme is on one’s own domain. Is there a way to fix this in wordpress.com?
