As I understand it, it is not possible to Smush by date but I really need to this to a site. This site has posts going back to 2012, with many images.

I was thinking of downloading the folders for the last 3 years, then bulk smushing all the images on the site, then uploading the 3 folders for the last 3 years, into the ‘Uploads’ folder, and overwriting the smushed images in those folders.

Do you see any potential drawbacks or pitfalls doing it this way?

    Hi @duckofdeath,

The results can vary, for example, the thumbnail images are smushed based on the images registered by the theme or existing set of plugins. These can vary if you try to smush the exact set of images on a different website.

By default, I’m afraid there isn’t any such feature to smush based on date. Could we know for what exact use case you are looking for such a workflow? As the Bulk Smush should eventually optimise the mentioned image images based on its progress.

Please advise so that we could have a better idea on what could be suggested further.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Nithin
