Smart Archives requirement help

I’m interested in using Smart Archives, but I need a bit of a boost. A listed requirement:

“Your archive format is: /archives/y/m/d/post-name”

The trouble is that I don’t exactly know how to go about doing that. Anyone willing to walk me through or point me to a resource? Thanks.
