Almost any theme will do. If you don’t focus on blog posts, then you set your homepage to something other than posts and put your focus on pages and a good menu structure. If you have issues about that tutorial in particular, I suggest contacting the wpbeginner folks directly.
Thank you for your feedback
That was my question. How do I focus on pages? I thought I did. I never chosed a theme. I just added a few standard pages, like About, Services, Contact etc. But when entering the pages their layout is for blogging and they already contain elements for blogging, like the ones I mentioned above.
I thought adding a page would give me an empty page that I start to build up with text and images. Like in a informational and general page.
Is there a way to add an empty page or do I have to remove all blog content from the created page? And if so, how do I remove the content in the created page?
Sorry about my question, but I thought it would be easier to build. I did create a site ten years ago, which was easier.
What do you mean by “blog content” on pages?
Sorry for maybe being a bit unclear
After creating and entering my new pages for About, Contact, Services etc, there are still all these blog things on all these pages, like a Search bar, New Comments, Archive, Categories, which I don’t want on these pages. I thought a New page would be empty or adapted to write just my text and add background image and other images.
So is it possible to create empty pages or can I remove all layout and contents from a new page?
Right now I just want to create a simple but stylish business site with informative text about me and my company, my services as a translator, how to contact me, etc., together with some nice images.
In the future I might want to start with weekly news, articles, blogging, etc.and thought about using what the article mentioned as a separate blog/news page.

You can remove those from APPEARANCE->WIDGETS
Okej, thank you.
So there is no way to start from scratch or at least with a more simple layout for small businesses without all blog features?

Look through wordpress.org/themes for themes that focus more on pages than posts.
I just read about the difference between posts and pages. And the New post prepare for me writing a post and people can leave comments. It also becomes the start page, the first thing you meet when changing to my site. When I add New page it’s just for some text and shows in the upper menu beside other pages.
But under the post or page there is this blogging features, like Search bar, Latest comments and to the right there is column menu with Archive, Categories, Meta and some links with website administrator, Log out etc.
Why are all these things there even when I add pages and not posts? On a “About” or “Contact” page I don’t want any search bar, Archive, Latest comments etc to show. So why are they there, if I am using pages and not posts?
Because you need to remove them. APPEARANCE->WIDGETS.
okej, thank you for your patience. A bit overwhelming all possibilities for a beginner. 🙂
