Slugs

I have a page whose title is “1875 Reprints of 1857-60 (40-47)”, which generates the permalink : “http://usphilatelics.com/1875-reprints-of-1857-60-40-47/“.
Another page’s title is “1917 Types of 1902-03 (479 – 480)”, but that generates the permalink “http://usphilatelics.com/1917-types-1902-03-479-480/“.

Note that the “of-” has been removed from the slug in the second one, and that causes links from other pages to fail. I have had to manually insert the “of-” into the slug to get it to work.

Why has WordPress done this in one case but not the other ?
