In just the past week, we’ve been encountering some very frustrating issues with CPU over-use on our server.

Whenever we save changes to a page, the server is hit very hard until the point where the server can no longer correctly save the page and it is saved in an incomplete state, forcing us to recover a revision.

Our hosting provider gave us some information and it appears that the issue is being caused by multiple very slow queries. By installing a plugin called Query Monitor I have been able to view what queries are causing the issue and they are all from popup builder. Over 10,000 queries every time a page is loaded.

We do have a lot of pop-ups on our website, but they are all set up so that they display only on the pages where they are needed and this has been perfectly fine in the past, only recently has this become a problem.

We have not added any new pop-ups for quite a long time, so the issue is completely new. Would you happen to know why this is happening or how we can resolve the problem?

Could it be due to a recent update?

    Thank you.
