Slider not working since WordPress updated

I had to update WordPress on the website I am newly managing, when it did, it created issues with sliders and layout on the home page, both the big blank area at the top and the holes at the bottom of the home page. I have no idea what slider plugin was used at the time of creation nor aware of the previous WP version that worked, I added a new slider plugin(Smart Slider 3) to see if it would fix the website and it did not.

I then reached out to the new slider tech support and their response was: The problem on your website is, that your theme uses an outdated code which creates a JavaScript error and this way our slider cannot work there either. So this issue has to be fixed first and you will only be able to have any slider on your website afterwards, because JavaScript errors are stopping all JavaScript codes following them. You can see in my attachment what JavaScript errors are coming from your theme, where the problem is, that they used jQuery browser:

which was deprecated 7 years ago, just WordPress used ‘jQuery migrate’ to support some old deprecated functions, like this one, but they have removed it from their code with one of the new versions. What I suggest is, that you should get in touch with your theme’s developers and ask them to fix these issues for you, as this code wasn’t just simply used in one file, but in inline codes too, so the fix will need more modifications and from the frontend of the website I couldn’t tell all files, which has to be modified.

I have reached out to the theme creater and have not received a response, nor to I expect to. Any help in fixing this issue would be appreciated. I am not a web designer, just a member of a club trying to help.
