sitemap_index.xml Not Working

    Hi,

    There is error on sitemap_index.xml page. The Error –

    This page contains the following errors:

    error on line 1 at column 8: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    Problem – There is empty space before the first line <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?><?xml-stylesheet type=”text/xsl” href=”//www.geekman.in/main-sitemap.xsl”?>

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
     
    There must be some white spaces before the XML Sitemap’s source code. This might be added by a blank line/space in your wp-config.php file or your theme’s functions.php file. If there is no such blank space in your wp-config.php or functions.php file, check for a plugin conflict using the Health Check plugin.
     
    Also, ensure your cache is disabled, as it is highly likely that the cache is interfering with the working of the Sitemap functionality of Rank Math. https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    Hi,

    Before posting I tried everything, the problem is with your plugin! I using rankmath in 7-8 different website and all this website have same problem!

    There was such a problem. It turned out that the problem was related to the site theme. I advise you to switch the site to another theme, clear the cache and see what happens

    I tried that, all my 7 websites with different themes have same problem

    Ok, I found the error, there is malware through plugin on all my site that is the reason behind this

    Hello @mayurindia,

    This is not an issue from the Rank Math plugin. If you check any other pages of your website, you’ll see the same space. Here’s a screenshot for your reference: https://i.rankmath.com/i/MmVDbt

    Because of this space on your website, Rank Math is unable to properly generate the XML file. If you’re not able to find the space in your wp-config.php or functions.php file, you can follow this guideline to fix this: https://wejn.org/stuff/wejnswpwhitespacefix.php.html
