    Hi there,

It seems there is an issue with your sitemap. see screenshots

Google Couldn’t fetch the sitemap/s in their new Webmaster Tools console

Google shows sitemap pending (for 2 days now) in the old Webmaster Tools console

Oddly enough, when I run a test using the old console, there were no errors found (see screenshot)

Bing seems to be okay with the sitemap – no issues.

I am using the latest version of WordPress 5.1.1, theme, plugins etc

You may need to contact Google to find out the issue as I can see many other users are reporting the same issue to you in the last few months.

Perhaps just a compatibility bug issue which I am sure you can fix at your end.

    Kind regards

Unfortunately, Google doesn’t provide any more information as to why they cannot read the sitemap.

    1. Does the sitemap load correctly in your browser?
    2. Does Google see the sitemap when checking the URL in the Structured Data Testing Tool?
    3. Did you submit the sitemap to the Google Search Console profile that matches the preferred URL format including http(s) and www or non-www?

If the answer to the above questions are yes, please contact Google for further assistance here.

Please note that in Google’s support forum there are quite a few users (with and without Yoast SEO) seeing this error. Some say it resolves itself within a few days. Others say it works in the old Search Console. But many have no resolution and suspect it’s a bug in the new Search Console.

    Closed. No further concerns.
