Sitemap does not update automatically

    Hello,

    the sitemap does not update automatically. When creating it manually, it works – but of course this makes no sense.

    What is wrong there? Any ideas? Both files, the normal XML and the gz-version are writeable. But still the error occours it could not be created or so…

    I have to say: I have set my server to start cronjobs every 5 minutes. Maybe the plugin does not work with this setting? But it should. I do not want to start a cron job with every page load… so I have set it to “every 5 minutes” automatically.

    Any fix coming for that? There are many posts and questions like this in your forums… without answers or help.

    PS:

    I again created an example post called “sitemap test”. It was published. I checked the XML Sitemap settings and – again – these errors occoured:

    “There was a problem writing your sitemap file. Make sure the file exists and is writable. Learn more
    There was a problem writing your zipped sitemap file. Make sure the file exists and is writable. Learn more”

    The file is defintivly writeable (777), both files. And both of course exist. What´s wrong there?
