    Hi all

    I have checked my clients site load speed with pingdom and it loads on average in 4-5 seconds but my client says that it takes up to 20 seconds to load for them. When I check it myself it loads generally between 4 and 5 seconds too.

    What could be the reason that my clients load time is so slow compared to mine and the pingdom speed test tool??

    It’s possible they have a slower internet connection. There are quite a few caching plugins available in the plugin repository and tools for image optimization as well if the site uses a lot of images.

    Image Optimization Plugin –> https://wordpress.org/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/

    There are also many other tools, these were just two that came to mind. Hope this helps a bit.

    In conjunction with those, I’d recommend using WP Optimize

    That will automatically clean up and optimize your databases which has sped up slow sites for me in the past. I’ve never ran into any issues but as with anything that modifies your databases be sure to create a backup before running the optimizer!

    I’d also recommend going through the list of plugins you have installed and deactivate+uninstall any that you aren’t using or need.
