Site Search Not Working? Thoughts?

I’m getting down to the final punchlist on a new site I created for my Uncle:

From the get-go, the built-in search functionality hasn’t worked and I can’t figure it out. It works just fine on all my other 5 WP sites, but not this one with this particular template.

Just to clarify… the search only searches through posts, not pages, right? If that’s the case, we don’t have any posts, yet, but it should at least show the search results page with 0 results, right? Not a 404…

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
