Site not switching immediately in Android

When someone clicks the Desktop button in iOS devices, the page switches immediately to the desktop view, and vice-versa in the phone when clicking the ‘show mobile site’ link.
But in Android devices, clicking the Desktop button has no visible effect, but loading another page in the site shows the desktop view. And again, clicking on the ‘show mobile site’ link doesn’t immediately change it, but the next page loaded is the mobile view.
