• No one (other than tech support at my host provider) can get to my WordPress site. All we get is “site not configured.”

Initially, I got this when trying to log-in to the back end as well, but I Googled the site and went in through a secondary link and got in– though I was in the WP back end, not the pages a customer would see. I though that was odd.

My host has no clue what’s going on, as they can see the site. I called folks all over and asked them to try it– all get that same message.

What’s kinda strange is that once I got into the back-end, many graphics (the site logo among them) were pointing to the server where I developed the site (hosted at the same provider, but under my domain). Once I went in and grabbed the same image from the current path/library, they displayed fine. Really funky.

The site has been migrated for over a month with ZERO issues. The provider actually performed the migration and it seemed all was well. How could something like this occur, particularly since i haven’t been into the back end of the site for several days, during which time it was perfectly accessible?

The tech support folks are “stumped” in their words. My client is more than stumped… they are not happy their store-front is inexplicably down. 🙁

If anyone has any thoughts I can pass on to tech support (or my client!), I would greatly appreciate it!

    Sorry! babystuffkids2.com

    Thanks!

Your site is working fine or me, so I can only assume that this is a local network issue.

FWIW, I get the “site not configured” (Firefox and Chrome) – AT&T Starbucks access.

I don’t think its a local network issue, unless that encompasses a larger area than I realize.

I can’t access via my home network or via 3G. My client (about 35 miles north west from me) can’t access and 2 corporate networks about 19 and 26 miles north get the “Not Configured” error.

    Very strange.

I can access the site without any problems from the UK. “A local network” means any part of the Internet connection outside of the server. So this could be ISP or geographically specific. Sometimes it’s a fault somewhere down the line that clears within 24 hours.

    Thanks, WPyogi–

I think it HAS To be the case. I just discovered that if I use Google and select “babystuffkids2.com/login” from the search results– it will take me to my site’s 404 page– and that gives me the ability to navigate the rest of the site!

Cutting and pasting the urls doesn’t work– I have to “start” at that google search/404 page.

Would a dns issue explain why, it would seem, some folks get through? Like the host provider and semi?

    Never seen anything like this!

It could indeed be a temporary DNS problem. With luck it should resolve itself within a few hours when the DNS servers refresh.

I used checkmydns and it looked good (to me, anyway), EXCEPT each of the 2 servers came back with a red mark and “doesn’t reply to ICMP requests.”

I guess that’s the problem? Looking up meaning of ICMP now. 🙂

Just wondering did this problem resolve itself?
