Site logo- always small

Hi there!!
Love the athena thema and plan to upgrade to pro version.
I’m having a strange bug with the Logo, in site customizer.
no matter what logo is uploaded, the image shows squished and small on the website!!

I have tried uploading much larger pictures as a test to no avail.
any ideas to make a normal size image logo?
