site elements missing, user accounts locked out

    I recently updated to 3.3- and didn’t notice any immediate problems, so I don’t think this is related, but wanted to point out that I had recently updated.

    My wife’s site (indianapoliswithkids.com) seems to be having issues. She called me last week while I was out of town, and said some of her images were gone. These apear to be site elements, her logo, some social network icons, etc.

    I can’t log in to see what’s going on. Neither can she. So it looks like I’m locked out for some reason.

    I don’t believe the site has been hacked, because her content appears to be intact- and nothing malicious has been put in place of the site.

    I still have access to FTP, and should have access to phpMyAdmin, for DB level editing.

    Any suggestions? Seen this before? Easy way to reset a password from the database, or look and see how this happened?

    upon deeper looking…
    looks like it HAS been hacked.

    all user accounts deleted.
    admin remains, with a user email I’ve never seen before.

    I changed the admin email in the database, and used wordpress’s “i forgot my password” option, to set a new password.

    Where can I look to see when/how this happened?

    I found some pages with site elements embedded in them had been deleted… no sure why.

    I don’t know why someone would only hack it to this level— unless there is something else I need to be looking for. A rogue plugin perhaps?
