Site displaying incorrectly after FTP

    Hi, I am new to WordPress. I have created a site using the Divi theme and uploaded it to my Hostgator account. All good, it displayed and worked perfectly.

    Yesterday I decided to attempt to create a staging site which I think I have done correctly. Some time during that process my live site started to display incorrectly, as does the staging site. The main banner image is not displaying even though I can see it when I inspect element and the link is pointing to the correct folder – wp-content. I can see the image in the folder in Filezilla.

    Also, the layout is not centered and the contact form I made is not displaying correctly either. The Divi logo and search box is displaying at the top of the page, even though I removed it during the design process.

    Can someone please point me in the right direction to what might be causing this. I have googled and searched You Tube but can’t find the answer, so need advice from an expert!

    Since that is a commercial theme, we ask that you please go to their official support channel, so you can get support from the people who know it best.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working properly. Other community members who may have faced your issue might be able to help you but your best bet is your product’s developer. Keep in mind we encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code and gives back to the community in a more robust way.

    Many thanks for the quick reply. I started by asking here because I didn’t know if it was a WP issue, theme issue, FTP issue or something else. I will certainly ask at Elegant Themes now.

    Can I ask, how do you know it’s a theme issue? Is it because any issues with display are normally related to the theme only? Only asking so I can learn…. thanks!
