Thanks for reporting this here. This is extremely odd; I don’t have the error with many versions of PHP I have (for example, I tried 8.0.22 and 8.1.9, which are around yours). Also, I don’t see issue about an unclosed ‘{‘, it actually is closed πŸ™‚

You can’t even access the admin if you have the plugin activated? Just in case, can you delete the plugin, re-download it and re-install? I don’t think that usually works, but I feel like you might have a version that is not right, or that was bugged but quickly replaced (even though it’s 0.7.4).

Hi Jordy, did an uninstall and it seems to be the Pro version that has the problem, I installed the zip ai-engine.0.7.4.zip and all worked as expected, then I downloaded the pro version ai-engine-0.7.4.zip and installed and the critical error came up again and took my site down. Must be something in the PRO zip download πŸ™‚

Okay, I know what it is! On some servers, the PHP has this turn off:Β short_open_tag. By default, normally, it’s on. Not sure why, but it breaks everything if you use a short open tag (basically, it’s using <? instead of <?php).

I fixed it in the last version 0.7.5. Please give it a try πŸ™‚ I’ll be careful not to use short open tag…

Hi Jordy, installed 0.7.6 and all is well again, you nailed it. Thank you so much for such amazing support. Quick question is your website a place to reach out, I work for a larger media company and have some dev questions if your interested? thanks again so much πŸ™‚

You are welcome, and I am sorry about the issue! I am trying to be careful; though officially, it’s still in beta (but really getting ultra-stable I believe). Don’t hesitate to leave a little review if you have time πŸ™‚

You can always reach out to me here: https://meowapps.com/contact. That said… I am swamped with work! This month, I can’t even leave my house or take a few hours to go to a park, so I am not sure I can help. But of course, let me know πŸ™‚ Have a nice week-end!

Do you have any info on how to use forms and stats? I’m very interested in those πŸ™‚

Hi Jordy I am getting the following error:

    Hi @graham50,

Are you using the very latest version? At least, 0.7.6. Also, could you check your PHP Error Logs to know exactly what’s the error? (the error you mentioned could be anything, it’s just generic)

    Thread Starter NBNTelevision

    (@nbntelevision)

Hi @graham50 I can confirm the updates 0.7.6 and above have fixed that problem, all is running well again for me πŸ™‚

Just updated to 0.8 and still having same error message

    (@tigroumeow)

@graham50, please check your PHP Error Logs (https://meowapps.com/tutorial-php-error-logs/). Currently, I am not setting any errors (and I didn’t get any report), so could really be anything, or something else entirely. But the PHP Error Logs will tell us πŸ™‚

I am getting the same error message on several of my WP websites

All sorted seems like there was a conflict with another plugin. Thanks for your help

I glad to hear that! I was a bit concerned…
With which plugin did you get the error?
