• So I was going to build a new site on the domain enkarlmedskagg.se. I moved the old site to enkarlmedskagg.se/old in my FTP and got a backup on my database. However the old site has now reverted to the install screen. I tried doing the ol’ install-ar-o and upload my old database, but it seems that the site became empty of contents. Upon reloading I was back to the install screen.

I need the old blog-posts (at minimum) and I can’t seem to get it from my database.

    I’ve tried the following things:
    – Do a clean install and transferring both my backups (files and database).
    – Linking my old database in my wp-config.php to my new site directory (got some weird error and the url dv.enkarlmedskagg.se/…)
    – Checked the prefix in wp-config and matched with the database (wp_)
    – Did a repair on my tables and checked for errors (phpMyAdmin)

tl;dr: Moved site to /old in FTP. Want to link database to new site on /version2. Once done publish site on root directory.

Thank you for your answer. Don’t really know what the problem was but I did a complete do-over and it worked… kinda.

I’ve partially retrieved my old contents, but the only posts I got were the ones that were unpublished. I’ve lost all of my published posts it seems…

Maybe this question should be published seperately?
