I’m having an issue with one of my site’s appearance in google search. The site has been live for around 3 years and has good authority. If you search for the name of the site (“circuit basics”) it appears as the number one result in google. However, the search result only has the smaller result display with just the site title and the home page snippet.

Another site I own, which was started much more recently and has far less authority, has the much larger search appearance, with site title, snippet, and links to the different categories below the snippet. Search for “hack your bags” to see what I mean.

Both are using the most recent version of Yoast SEO. Is there a setting I have set wrong in Yoast that is causing circuit basics to not get the full search result display? I don’t think authority is an issue here.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Those are Sitelinks. Sitelinks are automatically generated by Google based on your site structure. It’s not based on our plugin’s settings. Google is kind of tricky though when it comes to Sitelinks. You can learn more about Sitelinks here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/47334?hl=en

The Yoast SEO plugin automatically adds all the necessary Schema needed to generate Sitelinks. So you won’t need to change anything from the plugin.
