Did you add any plugin lately that would have caused the problem.
If so deactivate the plugin using ftp by renaming the plugin

Nothing new other than JP gallery which isn’t even in use at the moment. Trouble is I can’t even get in to remove anything that might be causing this as I can’t get passed the blank page. The site is also in maintenance mode…

if your site is in maintenance mode then there is hidden file .maintenance that needs to be deleted
Hi there
I’m fairly new to word-press and recently changed packages with hosting provider. They advised me to make a back up of all my site files which I did. I then re uploaded the files to new package and have lost my site. I can see the files but it gave me a fresh install. What should I do? Any help greatly appreciated.
Did you make a backup of your database and restore the database.

i’m not sure if i made a back up. i have the wp files
I’ve just spoken with the host ‘technical dept’ they are going to try and retrieve the old database if they can and get back to me. it seems that I have connected to an empty database.

@govpatel. I’m attempting to help @zoelee with this. Am searching the ftp for the hidden .maintenance file, but am not seeing it (perhaps because it is hidden??). Where should I be looking? Thx
