Are you even using MultiSite?
I would start with turning off your plugins and switching to the default (ugly) permalinks.
Thanks for responding, Ipstenu.
Yes, it’s a site for only registered users allowed to publish post as editors.
Yes, but is that MULTISITE? Do they each have their own, separate, sites, or are they all users on one blog?
And if it’s multisite, is this happening on ALL sites or just one?
Sorry for the delay.
Not a multisite, it’s a unique blog. As you suggested, I’ve disabled all plugins and switched permalinks to default… even so the problem continued.
The file single.php is original and I’m using the the Michael Heilemann’s default WordPress theme version 1.7.2, wich style.css I’ve rewrote.
The problem began to happen after I installed the ‘Quick Post Widget’ plugin. Before this one, I’ve tried the ‘Post From Site’ plugin, which I dismissed ’cause it didn’t register authors of posts.
What’s happening: once I access a post, the browser delays a lot of time and suddenly everything stops working (browser first, following all OS). I don’t know if this happens only to me or also to any visitor.
I considered the possibility of a virus effect, but AVG scan results negative. The bug in browser looks like a never-ending loop.
Not a multisite, it’s a unique blog.
Moving the thread out of the multisite forum then.
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
