Hi – You can run it on multisite but it needs to be activated on each site individually.
Thanks!

I have tried that, but it just won’t activate.
WP 5.1
php 7.1
Apache 2.4
hmmm…that is strange. Is there an error being thrown in the debug.log file that might give us an idea of what’s going on?

I have no debug.log file and attempts to enable it with define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true); have failed. I tried disabling Defender Pro in case it was blocking the plugin. But that made no difference either. It’s a live site so I have re-enabled defender, and removed define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
hmmm…no error but its not being activated? Its rare that you get a WP error without something being thrown in the debug log. If I had to guess I would say it sounds like a classic WP conflict with another plugin.
Maybe try activating it on a test site first?

OK, I managed to install it on a test site that has completely different plugins and theme.
The site I actually want to try it on already has BB Press installed. What’s your view on deactivating bbpress while I try out Simple:Press? Any potential conflicts?
And let me back up a bit. Going back to my OP, the customer wants to be able to posts and reply using email, for people who are resistant to forums. Do I need the pro version for that. If so, how can I evaluate please? The customer is a charity and they can’t afford to buy a plugin and then discover it’s not what they want.
We have a bbPress add-on so there shouldn’t be an issue with core bbPress. But if there are third party bbPress add-ons I can’t really speak to those.
Importing emails is a premium function. You can find the documentation on that located here: https://simple-press.com/documentation/plugins/our-plugins/available-plugins/post-by-email/ and the actual add-on sales page is here: https://simple-press.com/downloads/post-by-email-plugin/
We don’t have any “trial” (its open source so once the product is shipped you have everything).
Thanks.

Thanks Nigel
OK, so I looked at the help page for PBE. It looks like setting it up and running it requires some effort and the users who PBE need to be careful about how they construct their emails.
How popular is this addon in your user base? I am not inclined to use a feature that is only going to be used by a few people.
Hi:
We don’t keep statistics of what customers are enabling on their site so I can’t speak to the popularity of it. Most users buy the bundles that include the full Simple:Press forum suite but they don’t activate or use everything.
Sorry I don’t have any more information in that area.
