Simplifies dev site strategy

I have just installed this on a second site having had it prove it’s usefulness on the first.

The first site had some issues with the initial setup. I reached out to the developer and received a refreshingly prompt response, remarkable for a free plugin. With her help I got it sorted out. Since then it has permitted me to test out some bugs plaguing the parent site. This is an improvement in that respect from a standalone dev site because I have instances of those where I am unable to recreate the issue on the separate site. This makes that less likely.

For the second site I plan to copy over a modified theme to the staging clone so my client is able to view her current content with a new look. This will also give us a chance to correct issues she has with her old theme conflicting with plugins and affecting the display of her content. We can make sure the right mix of plugins is present, make those changes to the parent and then install the new child theme without public surprises.
