In the Help page for SimpleMap it states:

If you want only certain categories or tags to show on a map, insert shortcode like this, where the numbers are replaced with the ID numbers of your desired categories and tags: [simplemap categories=2,5,14 tags=3,6,15]

On the Location Categories page there is no Category ID displayed. I attempted to put the slug in to only display locations with a certain category, but that didn’t work either.

    Any help?

  • Hmm. I haven’t heard any reports of that not working lately. Try putting single quotes around the values like: [simplemap categories=’2,5,14′ tags=’3,6,15′]

    Thanks Glen,

The issue I was having was not with the shortcode, but figuring out what the Category ID was. It doesn’t show on the Location Categories page. However, if I select a category and then look at the URL I see “edit-tags.php?action=edit&taxonomy=sm-category&tag_ID=26&post_type=sm-location” and was able to discern the category = 26. Putting this in the shortcode worked for me.

    Thanks.
