I feel like an idiot, but I’ve spent most of my day trying to get this to work — no joy. I’m not a WP expert by any means, but not a total newbie either, and I’ve used Media Library Assistant before, though it’s been awhile.

I just want a simple sidebar menu based on media file attachment categories. I couldn’t get any results at all with the MLA Text widget. This is the last code I tried, which is probably not even close, but at this point I don’t know what I’ve tried:

    [mla_term_list taxonomy=attachment_category attachment_category=downloads]
The slug is “downloads” and the ID is 81.
    Result: mla_output is empty

I then tried to use the List Custom Taxonomy widget, which has added the attachment_category option since installing Media Library Assistant. Now the menu is created, but the hyperlink leads to a “not found” error. So I’m actually not sure where to look to try to resolve this.

So I’m thinking I’m missing a basic step here that’s going to be painfully obvious as soon as I hit “Submit.” 🙂

Welcome back, David! Please don’t waste your time with this one. After a much needed break, I’ve figured out I was not only in the wrong ballpark, but three states away! I’m making progress now with refreshed brain cells.

Thanks for the great plugin! 🙂
