Silence is Golden ?

    I keep reading posts about this index.php file which contains Silence is golden script, but the problem is, i’m freshly installing wordpress and after i open my admin page everything screws up (i cant open the site, i cant go to admin panel, )

    is this php file really a hack ? or is it only exists in different directoryes to avoid directory listing purpose ?

    right now i am just waiting to solve this problem, because today i’ve done 3 clean instalations…..and none of them worked, or is it something else ?

    note: before i start to install wordpresss, i’m deleting my MYSQL database and creating a new one with a new fresh password..

    It’s there to stop directory listings where they aren’t forbidden by the server configuration.
