sidebar widgets plugin not running

Hullo all,

i am trying to run wordpress.org and have installed the sidebar widgets plugin.

however, although i have activated it, it does not show up in the presentation interface, or on the blog as well.

i started off using the classic template by dave shea, which i then modified (css, header, etc).

i also moved the sidebar php to ‘float: right;’ and added some <div> to structure the layout.

is this why the widgets are not working, and if so, does anyone know how i can get around it?
