sidebar widget dashboard PHP error

I just installed 2.5 with the latest build of the K2 theme. It was working great as I inserted custom graphics into the theme and worked through various design changes. Suddenly, I go to login and I receive the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_register_sidebar_widget() in /home/content/w/w/r/wwrmarketing2/html/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php on line 31

This happened once and I reinstalled both WP and the theme and now it has happened a second time. I used it for awhile and days later when i go to login, it give me this error.

Is this a K2 problem or WP problem? Can anybody provide a fix? – because this is a very important corporate blog…Please advise…

  • It’s a K2 problem. Lots of people have reported it. Check the K2 forums, they may have a fix.

Although the fact that you said it worked and then stopped gives me pause. Things don’t just stop working like that. The files changed somehow. Check them against a clean good copy somewhere, make sure they’re all the same.
