Sidebar ad wanted: Does not show without shortcode or function

    Hi,
    thanks for this very intuitive plugin.

    Ads are not showing unless pasting the specific shortcode to posts or the function to a template file, unfortunately. Is this wanted by default? Checked all settings to show it on all pages and tried several pages.

    Mainly I’d like to show ads in different sidebars. Added the widget to any of these. Purged the cache (w3total cache in use). Don’t get the ad to show there. So I guess I need a function to add the widget to one of those sidebars?! I’m using the plugin Custom sidebars.

    Really appreciate any help with this!

    Hi,
    thank you for reaching out.
    Did you see the “Advanced Ads Widget” in the Widget area of your dashboard? You can use it and simply select the group or ad you want to use there. Maybe you just missed that?

    ja, in my dashboard’s widget area I dragged the advanced ads widget into all of my custom sidebars.

    Ok, let’s first make sure that the ads are working in Sidebars in general.

    Could you please check if using the shortcode of an ad works? You find it below the ad title on the ad edit screen. Please insert it into a normal WordPress text widget. If it shows up, it might be an issue with the Widget and maybe Custom Sidebars. If not, well, we’ll find it 🙂

    yes, putting the shortcode in a text widget works.

    Since when are you using the plugin? I changed something with the widgets in the last update. If you used Advanced Ads Widget before and it worked then I would know that this changed might be the cause.

    If not, I will try to set up Custom Sidebars on my site and test it with the widget.

    I started using Advanced Ads just recently (like 2days ago) with Custom Sidebars already active so I cannot say if it works with Custom Sidebars at an older version of Advanced Ads.
