when you select to have the image also as a featured image…the image then gets attached to the post so your theme can use the featured image…..if you want to stop showing the featured image, this is a setting for your theme – not the plugin.

The problem is that the image is showing twice in the posts. one large above the post and one small in the post.

ok…then, this sounds specific to that feed…what is the feed url that you are using?

Sorry I can’t tell you now I completely uninstalled and reinstalled it and took out the featured image setting. But I’m pretty sure it was on all the posts with images (I had 4 feeds)I don’t have time to fool with it right now. Maybe I will try later to recreate it and I will post back to you.

I have been trying to recreate it and things are going from bad to worse. Now I am getting double posts as well as each post having double images
I had the problem of the 2 images. It was in 1 particular rss feed (forgotten which one). Since I have over 200 RSS feeds and wanted to keep the Excerpt and Featured Image option in Autopost, I just stopped using that rss feed. Have not seen this issue since in thousands of posts.

I got it so that it is no longer doing double posts but is still doing double images when using “Excerpt and Featured Image” I am posting a screenshot. Is there a way to fix this, would it help to try another theme?

P.S. I have tried 3 different feeds and all show a double image like this

what you are seeing is the featured image on top and the image in the excerpt…you can get rid of the featured image by doing some setting in your theme…this is a theme issue, not a plugin problem since the plugin is simply placing the image both in the excerpt (which it IS responsible for) and the featured image (which the theme is responsible for).

I have switched to several themes and get the same result with all of them.
Let me ask you this…if a post has a featured image does it show in the post by default?

if a post has a featured image, it depends on the theme if the featured image will show or not.
