Show Post Author With Post

I’ve got a WordPress install running the Comicpress theme for a webcomic I’m starting, however I need to know how to add the name of the author to the post.

Ideally, it would be something like

Title/Permalink
By [Author] | Date

The Title and Date are already formatted like that, I just don’t know what the PHP code I’d need to add the author and perhaps where to put it.
